This handwoven tribal Oushak was imagined centuries ago in Turkey. It has weathered the course of time marvelously, still sporting its vibrant palette and intricate design. On a sparse field of blue, blooming flowers are held within the Oushak's central medallion, which is itself flanked by two floral palmetes which burst towards the border. The ridged outlines of the corner pieces highlight the difference in color; the field is sparse and cool, while the border is active and warm.
