The most striking aspect of this Sarouk is the deep blue lurking behind the central medallion. While it is enjoyed throughout the rug, at the center it is used to crisply outline the copper vines surrounding the majestic, curved octagon, which is itself a garden in its own right. Atop the red field, blue vines curl in a snaking pattern with white flowers blooming. Despite its age, every knot in this rug is crisply dyed and brilliant to behold.
